Since I last posted, I passed first year of my law degree at university. I spent last summer building this house with my dad in Andalucia, we had the walls up in two weeks!.
I'm back there in August to put the roof and windows and doors in. In fact I'm taking the kitchen from my mums house in Belfast over to my dads in Liverpool on the ferry on monday. Then he'll be driving the kitchen to Spain!
I think we need to get things moving here... I feel a fast trade coming on before I go away august 3rd to play bob the builder :)
Ok so two czech field telephones will be going on gumtree.
Sorry the blog has been a bit slow past month or so.
I went over to Spain to help build my dad's house in Andalucia for three weeks then came back to start a Law degree so things have been slow in these parts.
Well I have had a lot of interest in the phones in the past few weeks, offers so far.
1. two edwardian chairs 2. a three month old fridge 3. a blackberry phone 4 80 various cd's and 100 lp's. 5. few cash offers
Each is interesting in its own way but nothing that really grabs me, so reposted ad on gumtree again and will leave it 7 days.
Im debating about selling via ebay and then purchasing something new to swap. It seems a bit like cheating besides I do love the random offers and chaos effect of gumtree. anyway if you have a swap in mind, mail me :)
Cuban Poster swapped for a set (x2) Czech military field telephones.
Neil apparently is a former lawyer who now sells military stuff, not a big army fan he tells me but beats the office. He’s no stranger to swapping himself having swapped some of his military stuff for a 17ft sailing boat, nice work Neil.
These field telephones date from the fifties and are made of bakelite.Apparently if connected with two core copper wire and a 9v battery they are still fully operational. I haven’t tried it yet, so can’t confirm this but may have a go during week will keep you updated.
They are quite a cool and unusual thing, perfect for both warfare and connecting your shed to the kitchen. As usual I’m open to all kinds of weird and wonderful offers.
What will you swap me for…… A set of Two Czech Military Field Telephones.
After agreeing to a swap with the same guy twice! and waiting another week on him, I have given up on the swap and have decided to start over. I had an offer of a cordless drill and most interestingly a contract for a man's soul written in his own blood. While another mans soul is a tempting prospect, its gotta he hard to swap on.
p.s got offered a 1m fishtank on freecycle tonight! class.
Check out this lunatic. It's crazy what people get away with first a free house, now boats. The captain here blags yachts for nothing. Now boats are money pits and require mooring fee's so apparently in the states they are either given away sometimes or kept by the marina owner in lieu of fee's.
He ends up with a tri hull boat then a 61ft ketch after the first wooden one all for pretty much nothing. I've always wanted a boat, spent half my childhood paining and varnishing the damn things swearing I'd never have anything to do with one.
So I have decided what I am going to offer for trade.
I visited Cuba a couple of years ago and bought bought some posters from the Cuban film institute in Havanna. This is one of them, Its the poster for the 1975 film "cronica de la victoria" or chronicle of the victory I think. The film documents the cuban revolution. The poster is hand screen paint onto good quality paper and would frame up nice I'm sure.
The idea behind this experiment is that I begin by swapping this Cuban film poster with a stranger for a new item. Then swap this item again creating a chain of swaps. Hopefully something a bit better each time. See what I end up with.
